its homework. I need to find a symbol representing African-American slaves breaking tools in order to resist slavery. I was taught that they did not define revolution as a violent overthrowing, but meant it as revolving, that is, a revolution back to their rights as Englishmen. That was decades ago, and since then I've never found a similar teaching. So, what did they really mean by "revolution"?
