The movie is about the horrors of war, the life of deprivation the troops had to go through, the horrors of daily life in the trenches, the brutality of going 'over the top' into certain death - the suicidal charge across no man's land, and the treatment of those soldiers who took a moral stand not to make the suicidal charge - those branded cowards.

"(I believe it is a war movie or something)"

Um, well, yes... and since you put it that way, you obviously have no clue what you are even asking about. If you posted these questions for a class assignment, maybe you should just drop out of school now and be a lazy bum for the rest of your life, becasue this is a pathetic way to try to complete an assignment.

Yes, it is about World War One, and written from the German perspective on their western front.

My advice to you is: watch the movie yourself with these questions in your hand. You can pause the movie to take notes for each answer. You could do this with other members of your class and work on it together, perhaps dividing the questions up so that you each have fewer specific questions to look for, and then try to answer them together when they come up... hmmm... a movie party of sorts, but homework, too. What a concept.

You can also read the book (a better idea) as it is better and slightly different than the movie versions.

Don't be sloven.

Haven't seen it (yet!) but I can answer the question about Hitler.
Hitler wanted another war.
To that end, he tried to convince the German people that they hadn't lost the last war, but they were betrayed; stabbed in the back, as it were.
So the Fantastic German Army could rule the world, and it was definitely capable of waging and winning a new war.

~Why not watch the movie? You fail to mention which one you refer to and, since they are all different, your question defies an intellingent answer. Of course, anyone who does your homework for you isn't too bright anyway. Hey, there is a book out there of the same name. Has it occured to you that reading it might give you the info you need? I didn't think so. Enjoy repeating the class next year.
