I am writing a love story. Initially, I was only going to give one or two details about the physical description of the main character (the object of the narrator's desire.) Now, however, I have an image of her in my mind, and I feel the need to flesh it out with a more complete description. (I feel like her appearance says a lot about her personality.)

So, what do you think -- give most of the details, or leave it open for the reader's imagination?

I wrote a screenplay. I'm looking for suggestions on how to have my script read and evaluated by a Hollywood agent or anyone in the entertainment industry. I do not live in Hollywood and I do not know anyone in the business. Thank you.

for anyone who is familiar with this satirical piece... when Swift says (in the 9th paragraph i believe) "I have been assured by a very knowing American of my acquaintance in London[...]", is he talking about an American as we know it today (as in someone from the colonies, what we know as the USA)?

or, by American, is he referring to a person of another descent? maybe south american? or what? PLEASE HELP!

The story doesn't sound as interesting, and apparently Grant, Lex, and Tim don't make appearances. I rather thought that Malcolm and Harding were not very interesting either in contrast to the other characters mentioned.

I was bored the other day, so I just started writing...but I wanna know if this sounds good or if you guys have any advice.

Run. Run! That was all I could think but my feet did nothing. I wished I could run, dreamed it. But I couldn’t. As I stared into the eyes of fastly approaching man/my capture, I knew this would not end well. I knew I had to do something, but what I didn’t even know. I inched backward and my capture inched forward, he knew I could nothing. I dash and he grabbed me. I felt a pain I had never felt before as he tightened his grip. I fought to breathe as he squeezed me like a starving boa squeezing his prey. “Please.” I gasped. With an instant he let me go and stared at me with disgust. I was weak and mad at myself for not running when I had the chance. “Foolish girl, why would I kill you when I need you?” he spat like he loathed the words coming out of his mouth. “Take me to the ___, and I might spare your life.”

I like to think of myself as a very good writer. I'm in my senior year in high school and I've always excelled in English, mainly in writing. I want to be a story teller though. I want to evoke happiness, sadness, despair, ecstasy, and laughter from people with what I write... And I wouldn't mind some tips on keeping stories and plot details organized. Any tips and/or help gratefully accepted. Thank you very much.

Okay. I am 14 years old and I have written a Fictional book, called "The Memoirs of Justine Martin." It would probaly be classified as a young adult book. I have a couple questions all under publishing. Are there any good non- "Self publishing" companies, for youth my age. Second of all, do you always need a agent to publish? And lastly I have checked out a couple of self publishing companies, and they are too expensive. I am very determined to get this book published, it has a message that needs to be spread. And also, I don't want take the chance on self-publishing and a year later, still have a collection of un-sold books. That is one of my biggest fears, money not well spent. Thanks for your time and if you would like to contact me via e-mail: hottataneva101@yahoo.com

I have a book report due tomorrow (im a procrastinator) and it needs to be about three topics that Charles Dickens wrote about and also had to do with his life. I already have two topics: 1. Conditions under which working class people lived (he worked in a factory when he was 12) and 2. Death (deaths in his family). both of these topics have to do with the main characters of books that he wrote and i just need one more topic. Please help!

For my English class we have to pick a book that has something to do with the "American Dream." Most students in my class are doing Kite Runner, The Jungle, East of Eden, The Great Gatsby; I want to read something that no one else is going to read. What book would be different, but still meet the criteria?

It's a story written I believe in the time period of 1920-1950, I thought it was written by James Thurber, but couldn't find it in his catalog.

The story is about a wealthy family that have a "smart house" the children, a boy and a girl, have a playroom that turns into whatever they want it to be, they turn it into the Serengeti and lure their parents into the room to be eaten by lions.

Kind of morbid, but I read this in school as a kid, there was also a movie made based on it. I can't remember the author or the title...PLEASE HELP!
