You won't get a reply from Scholastic. They are a top ten publisher and they do not accept unsolicited material from authors. They only deal with agencies, as do all of the top ten publishers. Used to be you got a form rejection letter, more and more they aren't even bothering. Your work just ended up in a slush room and will eventually get shredded.

That was your first mistake. Second mistake never ever ever send anyone a manuscript unsolicited. YOu send a query letter and a synopsis and if they are interested, they will request a manuscript. The more professional you learn to handle yourself, the better your chances are.

Third mistake. You do not want to put ANYTHING on the internet. Material on the internet is subject to plagiarism and publishers do not want to touch it. It is too expensive for them to get their legal dept to sort out the actual ownership of a work and to possibly have to defend it should it turn up elsewhere with another name on it. I say it here 25 times a day. DO NOT PUT ANYTHING YOU WISH TO TRY AND PUBLISH ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET - IT CAN AND WILL GET STOLEN.

You need to get someone to give you a copy of Writers Market for Christmas and read it cover to cover. Don't just leave it on your desk as a paperweight. You will learn from it.

You can also go to my profile and go to the starred questions. I star all great Q and A regarding publishing and writing. Pull out some you think will help you and study them. You can print them if you want.

Careful or you may wind up in my next novel.

visit their web content and seek for education on submissions. Failing that, go on your community library, borrow a replica of Writers industry, and notice what it says in there approximately the thank you to undergo them.
