Finn or Moby Dick. Twain lived luxuriously(although bad investments left him bankrupt for awhile, hence the speaking tour, and Melville died a pauper and largely unnoticed. I would choose Moby Dick for the sheer scope of its ambition.

I work for a library and our staff day is coming up. We are allowed to dress as out favorite literary character for the event. I need some ideas. For some reason, the only characters that stand out as good ones to dress for are Harry Potter and the Cat in the Hat. I would really like to dress as Holden Caulfield from the Catcher in the Rye, but am not sure if the dress would stand out.

1. What are some good famous book characters. Any ideas would help

2. What would be best to do if I dressed as Holden Caulfield?

Thanks!

this author was determined to publish her book even though the people around her back then were strongly against it. and as a result of her success, other women all around the world emulated her and became writers.

You remember that time…
When I died
Begged, screamed, and cried
Beneath you
Why Leo, Why?
Remember late at night
When you came
Hot and heavy
So deep within me
Why Leo, why?
I know you remember
I still do
When it’s late night
And I’m raw
Why Leo, why?
I’m sick of all these lies
Sick of this
I’m so afraid
I think I’m broken
Why can’t I cry?
Really, I’m not alright
So I’ll lie
Oh yes, I’m fine
Can’t you see!
Why does it hurt?
I never wanted this
I’m so numb
Why can’t I feel?
Damn I wanna breath!
Why wont you leave?
Someday, I’ll get over it
Just a month
Perhaps a year
Maybe two
Will it ever stop?
No more lies, yeah that’s right
You screwed me
******* hurt me
Never caring
Why Leo… why?

I am a fan of those genres and I read a lot of Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Anne Rice, Matthew Rilley, Dan Brown and Michael Chricton. I'd like a recommendation on other authors who are similar and what books to start with, please? 'Cause I want to broaden my horizons a little bit more?

Recommendations on good fantasy books are welcomed as well, because I'm starting to read those too. So far I've read Eragon, the Sword of Shannara and of course, all of Harry Potter.

The company has said that they are interested in the work but they are not buying copyrights now. The contact informed me that they would be willing to make sure my book in market ready by offering services such as proofreading, cover design, marketing, manuscript analysis, and online advertising. For this service, the fee is $1700.00 and I would be required to pay $5.00 per softcover book and $10.00 per harcover book printed to sell

Does anyone have any opinions about this practice?
