There will be a main character killed in the last novel according to J.K. Rowling. Who will it be and why?

Voldemort because he is evil and otherwise the whole series would be tremendously depressing--I don't think J.K. Rowling would do that to the rest of the characters, since she likes them-- and Harry Potter because he is a Horcrux. Hence the scar, and him not being killed when he was first attacked. And you have to destroy all the Horcruxes to defeat Voldemort.

voldemort and harry potter. i think harry will die along with voldemort because it's a good way to end the series and not have all the lose ends to tie up. we all know that voldemort will die, because there's really not much chance of him turning out good and even so he would be tried at azkaban and convicted if that miracle happened. then there are theories about harry being a horcrux and that may be why harry will die. I really think he'll die for another reason, I just don't have an idea of why yet. The last person I think may die is ron. I've read some good theories about it and they may be correct in saying that ron may sacrifice himself for harry at the end or sometime during the book.

i think harry will die cuz the series needs 2 end and i think harry's a horcrux, so to kill voldemort he neeeeeds to kill himself.
also voldy neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeds to die.

ron/hermione/lupin/hagrid might die cuz they're close to harry
snape might b killed by harry or voldy depending on where his loyalties lie.
bellatrix will kill neville or neville will kill bellatrix.
ginny will NOT die(i hope)
