have the option of ordering a book for you that is not in the bookstore? There's a book I'm looking for, and I'm sure it is still in print...I was wondering if anyone knew if they do any special orders. I'm not interested to go online to order it. Serious replies only. Thank you.

My English teacher was telling us about this. Usually if you read a book 10-20 minutes before falling asleep, you can remember exactly what happened. Even if it's just a couple of pages. But is this really true?

I've just started a creative writing class, and while I love writing dialogue and have ideas of what I want to write I just fall down at the narrative. I get bored describing things because I want to write about people, not scenery! Anyone else had a similar problem? I want my work to sound original but it just ends up sounding cliched!

Emily Dickinson?

Can anyone explain the meaning of the poem "There is a certain slant of light" by Emily Dickinson? I understand everything except the last two stanzas. Also can someone explain why she capitalizes certain common nouns. I think it because of personification, Heavens Hurt, Landscapes Listen, Shadows hold their breath. Is that right?

Here is the poem:

There's a certain Slant of light,
Winter Afternoons--
That opresses, like the Heft
Of Cathedral Tunes--

Heavenly Hurt, it gives us--
We can find no scar,
But internal difference,
Where the meanings are--

None may teach it--Any--
'Tis the Seal Despair--
An imperial affliction
Sent us of the Air--

When it comes, the Landscape listens--
Shadows--hold their breath--
When it goes, 'tis like the Distance
On the look of Death--

Something just stops.
Swirls of darkness on a midnight plain.
Silence.
The unknown rotates, grows, breathes.
It is just us.
Stuck to this tiny marble,
Super gravity glue,
In a dizzying double spin.
The grass tickles my face,
Crackles under your back.
You laugh,
This huge, unearthly laugh.
Impossibly happy.
The firey brushstrokes of stars smile and nod.
I look to you.
You sigh.
And your laugh mingles into the moon.
