Is there a difference between the original and Great Illustrated Classics version of Great Expectations?

All of the Great Illustrated Classic books are condensed versions of the novels whose titles they bear. This means that some parts of the original novel have been removed in the Illustrated Classics. These condensed versions are often rewritten to be easier for elementary and middle school aged children to read.
