Hey Kuh-rina,

Huck had an abusive drunk for a father. He was left on his own at the river shack while growing up. He saw rapscallions and scallywags all the time. So, that type of deceptive behavior was something that he recognized and was therefore not surprised that the river would bring people like this along. Some of the clues for this may be found in Tom Sawyer, (the book, not the character).
