I have a good-sized commute and books on tape keep me so entertained the whole time!

I especially love those where the reader speaks in different voices for different characters, "page-turner" books that pull my attention in, and books with a bit of humor and/or love.

I love Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum character and got my friends all hooked on the series too. We have fun trying to figure out the perfect cast if they made it into a movie.
Stephanie- Hillary swank?
Lulu- Monique? or Queen Latifah?.. maybe(I can't see her as a former Ho though)
Ranger- The Rock!!!!
Joe- uh...no clue????
Grandma- no clue

I'm looking for some books that were published in the 1950's under this title. Does anyone know the name of the author? The books were a not about chess, but the border wars between England and Scotland. Couldn't find anything on the net about them, so please help?

I love this book. I adore Dickens. I've read 'A Tale of Two Cities' at least eight times, but I'm always too caught up in my obsession over Carton when I read it that I've never really noticed the importance of the title itself.

Can anyone please explain to me the differences between Paris and London as expressed in the book? Social and political differences are especially welcome.

Thank you :).

Money makes the world go round, some people say, and as it does so, it changes hands frequently. Imagine a week in the life of a dollar note and tell it's story!
Whose pocket did it start in? Who was it given to then? What was it exchanged for after that? etc.

The best story gets 10 points + thumbs up of course!

Ok. So, in my English III Enrichment class were suppose to be reading a book. Soon, (tomorrow) we're going to the library to prepare for our research papers. Let me give you an example of what we're suppose to do:

For example, my friend is reading a book about Frederick Douglass (a Slave). She has to write a paper about something that she can incorporate the book in. So, she's writting about either Discrimination or about The Causes of The Civil War - And, in her essay she will incorporate her book a little.

I need suggestions about:

1. I'm reading In Cold Blood, what topics should I write my paper about? (Specifics please, I'm looking for something that will have a lot of information about, or something very interesting ... I'm only on chapter two and I will read a 100 pages today for my Eng. class tomorrow.

2. How the hell do you pronounce his last name "Capote"? (Stupid question, I guess).

.... Thanks!
