This is for an elderly woman, in London, an ex-Jewish German refugee with an interesting life story. People often say she should write her auto bio, but she has not the eyes or the energy to do it herself. Where can she look for a writer to help her?

I need to know just about his character like is the characters values good/bad about this character? What is Chaucer emphasizing about the character (It might (Hint: It might be something ironic)? What detail allow you to conclude this? Why would this character make the trip interesting (meaning the pilgrimage they make to St Thomas)

General or novel writing, not poetry, journalism, etc. Unless it is a mindblowing book how to write amazing poetry, if you know of one then I would love to hear about that. Otherwise, just general or novel writing.

Is there any specific books on the events that caused the drow to go underground and hate all other race of elf? Is there any books that describe them prior to their fall from Grace or a time line of when the fell?

I'm writing a creative story.

I want to look for names for my characters, but I want them to have some meaning. Does anyone know a website that would allow me to convert MEANING into NAME not the other way around.

I need both first and last names.

For starters, I do not have a degree in english, nor in anything yet. I am 30 years old and an atheist. I am writing a book that, if all goes according to plan, will demonstrate what it is like to be an atheist in todays society as well as comparing and contrasting being religious and not religious.

My problem is, I have no idea where or how I can get this published, if at all, once it is completed.

Has anyone here had a book published? How hard is it to find an agent to turn your script in to the publishers for you?

My wife wrote an excellent childrens book and tried for 3 years to get it published, always hearing back that "We do not accept unsolicited manuscripts" from the big publishing houses. No agents were willing to take on her case without charging an insane fee up front.

We have looked in the literary guide for both agents and publishing houses.

I do not want to fall into this same situation, any advice ahead of time would be well taken.

Thank you.

Westerners live in a culture marked by abundant and frequent communication, both through oral and printed mediations. To what extent does this situation ensure a higher level of knowledge throughout Western culture?

Have you ever been in this situation? You're reading a piece of dialogue in a novel, and you suddenly ask yourself, "Which one said this?" You have to go back, sometimes a page or so, till you can say, "OK, John said this" and then you have to go forward, noting "this is Mary - this is John - this is Mary" etc, till you get to the bit that puzzled you, If novelists haven't got the skill to make it obvious who's talking, either through characterisation or through the plot, they should put in "said John" and "said Mary" often enough to signpost the reader.

I just got these three classics at a yard sale today and am curious to see what people think of them (and/or the authors who wrote them) if you have read any of them.

Thanks!

I would say Heathcliff except so many already admire or fancy him and therefore I opt for Scaramouche (written by Rafael Sabatini). The novel has a memorable opening line: "He was born with the gift of laughter and a sense that the world was mad."
