I read this book years ago but I still remember it as a very impressionable and moving story.I'd love to hear your comments.

Are they reliable?

If they are, did he predict 9/11?

And according to him, when is the exact date of the "end days?"

Sure, the vocabulary he used is not widely used today. But do you understand the words or you need to look them in a dictionary?

The one resolution, which was in my mind long before it took the form of a resolution, is the key note of my life. It is this, always to regard as mere impertinences of fate the handicaps which were placed in my life almost at the beginning. I resolved that they should not crush or dwarf my soul but rather be made to blossom like Aaron's rod, with flowers.......Helen Keller.....

This is a very profound statement by a very special individual. It makes me so humbled to read it and realize that my life is but a note of indifference in comparison to this wonderful woman who conquered so many disabilities and issues. My appreciation to have run across this at the time in my life where I feel so sad, lonely and unloved is difficult to express. All I can say is GOD is good and HE helps us to realize that we have many more things to be grateful for than we know. In this case, sight, sound, and speech have always been a part of my life and I have taken all for granted. Thank you Lord.......

what time does the rooster/chicken cock-a-doodle-do? I'm not joking. I'm writing a story about a girl who lives in a rural community and rooster/chicken is what wakes her up.

One book I have planned to write is about a romance between a young Scottish minister and a British schoolteacher in the late 19th cen. England. I spent a little bit of time listening to Scottish folk speak and such and I'm wondering...

...is it possible to phonetically "write in" the Scottish accent? The reader will already know that some characters are from Scotland, so should that be enough?

Thanks for your help; it is much appreciated. Maybe you might get the first signed copy when it comes out....LOL.

Maybe I need to read the books more to get this answer, but maybe others can help too. In the school play I am in, playing Hermione (all boys school) as I read the script (which is changing a bit) it seems that although she is a girl, her actions and words are not too girlish. IMO the script has simplied her a bit too much from what I remember and tried to reduce her in some parts to a more typical girl (in one scene I step back behind Harry and Ron and have to grab Ron's arm). But in some ways you could picture her saying the same words and doing the same things as maybe a guy too. So I am wondering how to play that she is a girl without going too over the top and not doing her justice. Does that make sense?

What would you say Hermione's female characteristics are and would it be best to play them, giving that this may come down to little actions and mannerisms more than major actions and words.

Right now I see the girl as secondary to Hermione's over all character - is that fair?

I'm used to reading more comedy-type books like 'HitchHikers Guide to the Galaxy', but I've read a couple of 'classics' like 'Girl with a Pearl Earring', '1984', 'Animal Farm' and I liked them. I'm thinking of reading 'Count of MC', but I don't know if I'd like it.

BTW, can any one suggest any other good books I could read?
I'm not really into Jane Austin type things though.
