How much will a lierary agent cost?

A reputable literary agent will NOT ask for money up front. When they make the sale, they get paid a percentage of what they have earned for you!

I really like the current issue of the "Guide to Literary Agents" for doing research about agents. It is from the folks at Writer's Market, who do an excellent job is creating resources for authors to start their research of agents. I'd also recommend their book "Formatting & Submitting your Manuscript".

The normal fee is anything from 10 to 20% depending on coverage.

Are they American Lit only?
Are they World Wide?
Are they audio, Web as well as Literary?
Do they get rights on Movies and screen plays?
