I know its a wierd combination, but I remember reading it as a kid, and it isn't explicitly lesbian, but when I was in my early 20's I realized, hey they were lesbians.

It was written for 9-11 year olds I think.

If anyone knows the name of the book please tell me.

I really need a good book to start reading. I loved Angels and Demons and The daVinci Code because of their European settings and art themes. I love Harry Potter books because of their elements of fantasy. I loved reading the Poisonwood Bible because it was a really touching book. So, there are some of my interests... any recommendations?

Mine would probably be "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" by Richard Bach, but Ann Rand's "The Fountainhead" comes in a close second. I'd also like to hear what new concept the book opened you up too.
