I love to read and do so often and all the time. However, lately I have found it hard to find any books that really spark my interest. Does anyone have any suggestions that coud help me? I love fantasy, but will read almost anything. I have read almost all of the well-known classics, everything by Anne Rice, Agatha Christie, Robin McKinley, and all sorts of other others. Please help me!

I need a theme (to use in my epiphany). Something original preferably. Incase you are wondering my story needs to be a maximum of 1200 words for this Grade 12 writing assignment. If you have any ideas please feel free to post. Thanks

I have a bajillion books. They are EVERYWHERE. People who come to see me frequently want to borrow them. There is no way that I can hide them or conceal them. I do not want to loan them, as I seldom get them back.

People either keep them for months, or when I ask for my book back, I am told that the borrower loaned it to someone else!

What is a good way to politely refuse to loan one's books?

I have been to the World Science Fiction Convention 17 times in 21 years. It is fun meeting authors and seeing the exhibits.

I read a book a long time ago, it was a kid's book, and I vaguely remember it being about a girl (she could have been a princess) and she was always told to stay away from the nearby forest (there were a lot of lilacs in it, I forget the significance of those), but she went in anyway....for the life of me I can't remember the title, I think it was called "The Lilac Forest" but I'm not even 50% sure of that....does anyone think they remember the actual title/author of this book? Thanks!

Besides Catcher in the Rye, A Separate Peace, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower?

I'm going to the bookstore now and I've loved all three of those books.

Anyone remember a short story about a walrus / people on a beach. Kinda like a grimm fairy tale. Scary. Surreal like the beach scenes in Stephen King's Tower Series.

Was written by a artist or somebody that worked for Playboy - though not as a writer usually. Can't remember who it was.

Labyrinth by Kate Mosse.

Supposted to be in the same vein as DaVinci Code - which I liked.

The most recent books I've read are:

The DaVinci Code
Harry Potter (all of them)
The Lord of the Rings
Angels and Demons

I dont like romance nobels. Im thinking just a good down to earth relaxing book. I don't like sci-fi.

I like to write stories on animals I have several I plan to work on. I eventually would like to get them made in to animated films. Is there any advice anyone can give me on how I can get started on this? I know I'll have to get my writing copy written, but I'll glady except the advice that is posted here.

Say you went somewhere that you thought it was exciting and you made a story about it, but when you were writing it,you thought it wasn't that exciting after all.So you decide to make it more exciting by adding things that never happened. Then you showed it to a publisher and it became famous everywhere, but when people asked you about the stuff you added that never did happen and you lied.So that made you think about what you said and made you miserable for the rest of your life. That would make you think"If I didn't lie to them, then I would be a true famous writer!" Makeing a true story about yourself has to be a true one, nothing but the solid truth and maybe it would be a famous book someday!
