ibid. adv : in the same place (used when citing a reference) [syn: ib., ibidem]

Ibidem -- It means in the same book, in the same chapter in the same paragraph. You use it when you are giving references -- for example, if you used two quotes out of one large paragraph, you would give a reference for the first one, and the second one you would state 'ibid' and the reader would know where that reference came from.

Do a Yahoo Search: define ibid. You will get many definitions there, and the same is true of most words.

I used to get really confused about that, I thought "ibid"? What is THAT? It is short for "ibidem", which means: "FROM SAME SOURCE - used to cite the same book, publication, chapter, or page previously cited."
