Where are the really smart, integrity minded politicos, like some of our historical figures. People such as Ben Franklin, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Franklin Roosevelt. You get the picture. Men (and women) who really thought about their words and actions and the possible long term effects.
I was inspired to ask this by another on the board who asked about great artists.

I want to get my Mom a plein-air backpack for Christmas, but I'm not sure which one would be best on her back. The Spunky Monkey looks great, but is a little out of my price range.

Ideally, I would like to get one that can hold either her French easel or M Box and tripod, and has a waist strap.

Any help and/or reviews (even negative ones) would be much appreciated.

Round Hole
a liar
a fake
my mask hurts
I put it on to try to belong
but the mask is transparent
ones from the other side tell me
"Its good, you need it."
it is not me
it hurts
only remainds me of my flaws
I want to leave
but the dream holds me
the dream where I belong
its farther than words can express
beyond rational thought
beyond my home
and farther still
I have no more wax to build my wings
I am a square peg in the round hole

This one is called "round hole". I wrote it when I was trying to be social and meet new people. I know its the 3rd personal one I've done and I have more. I plan to do less personal ones on subjects like war, religion, ect.

I have a book report due tomorrow (im a procrastinator) and it needs to be about three topics that Charles Dickens wrote about and also had to do with his life. I already have two topics: 1. Conditions under which working class people lived (he worked in a factory when he was 12) and 2. Death (deaths in his family). both of these topics have to do with the main characters of books that he wrote and i just need one more topic. Please help!

I had to write an essay on it today, and I was wondering what you thought about it. I personally believe it was the colonists fault, there were 300-400 people in a mob, they struck down a soldier, and were yelling "fire", which confused the soldier who got knocked down and he thought it was a command, not a taunt. What do you think?

For my English class we have to pick a book that has something to do with the "American Dream." Most students in my class are doing Kite Runner, The Jungle, East of Eden, The Great Gatsby; I want to read something that no one else is going to read. What book would be different, but still meet the criteria?

It's a story written I believe in the time period of 1920-1950, I thought it was written by James Thurber, but couldn't find it in his catalog.

The story is about a wealthy family that have a "smart house" the children, a boy and a girl, have a playroom that turns into whatever they want it to be, they turn it into the Serengeti and lure their parents into the room to be eaten by lions.

Kind of morbid, but I read this in school as a kid, there was also a movie made based on it. I can't remember the author or the title...PLEASE HELP!

Instead of the "devil walking Salem," John Proctor says, "vengeance is walking Salem." Explain how this is true. Examine the motivations for the witch hunts and examine the consequences that follow. Besides the deaths, what happended to the community and its, values, morals, way of life?
