i've loved photoraphy since i was a little kid. when i was 5, i stole my aunt's camera and shot objects and used up the whole roll of film. now in high school as a senior, im taking photography classes and i want to know what i can do to become a professional photographer. what college courses i should take when in college, if i should go to photography school or not-- if so, what school, and what are my chances of being a pro, etc.

if i couldnt make it into the photography industry as a pro, i would at least become a photojournalist. i love traveling, writing, and taking pictures. what are my chances of making a good living out of this? what are my chances of being hired by a big magazine such as TIMES? how much do photojournalists make?

i heard that most photographers arent recognized until they have a pretty big portfolio, and by then they're in their 40s-50s already. is this really true?? =/

have positive and encouraging answers, please!!

After many years in the adult world, I am taking an online writing course. I realized the other day, that I do not have a clear understanding of conflict in literature. I've tried dissecting the books I've read recently, and I'm not doing so well with it. Can you please help me to understand what the actual conflict is in these books? (Any or all)

Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen)

Harry Potter 1 through 7 (J K Rowling)

Twilight, New Moon & Eclipse (Stephenie Meyers)

Where the Wild Things Are (Maurice Sendak)

Thanks! Your help is sincerely appreciated!

Kind of vague, sorry. I was just thinking about fate though. If I can think about a choice I'm going to make, then go with choice A as opposed to choice B, was I going to do that anyways? I guess that's dependant upon the circumstance. What do you think? You can probably see what I'm getting at.

I posed a question yesterday about Janet and John books, and somebody mentioned they didnt use them at school, but used the Beacon reader books.

Something in that title prodded a memory, and im now trying to remember the content,as i must have had them at school too,as the familar title just sparked something.

Danged if i remember the book much.

Can anyone enlighten me?
I guess they were talking about the 50`s 60`s 70` time range.

I was at infants school in late 60`s early 70`s.

I am very intrigued, and cannot get the impression i read them too out of my head.

Oh,and i remember the ladybird books too,i saw tons of them in a old shop in yorkshire last week, really old ones.

They bought back some good memories.
I collect old childrens books, especially school ones, and am always looking for new ones.

I guess it reminds me of more innocent times, and in the harsh world we live in,i think a bit of re-living happier times just makes us smile and feel better.

I believe these forms are higly creative ( although they can also be highly copied so is regular fiction ). I can site many works that are equal or superior to mainstream fiction or classics. For instance you would be hard pressed to find a work more with the depth and breadth of Lord of the Rings in mainstream genres.

Your thoughts on this.
