Tell me something about them

2007-07-06 03:11:30 · 11 answers · asked by Anonymous in History

I'm writing a regency fiction, and can't think up a name for it that's not too corny.... It's about a courtesan and a Viscount. So here's the titles I thought up of:

-Come in with the rain (I really wanted the word "rain" in my title...but I don't think it's very historical romance-ish)

-Thorn of a rose

-In Her Eyes

-Remember When (My friend said this was the most suitable)

-The Runaway Courtesan (this is the present title I'm using, but it sounds a bit...corny? Or so my readers say. And I'm not to satisfied with it myself)

-And I Kissed Him

-Shades of Heaven

Anyways, any more suggestions? I'm horrid when it comes to thinking up titles. I'd like some suggestions of titles that might include....say....."storm" or "thorn" or .... "Remember" yah, lols

I am interested in how much it is worth and when it was done. It is a scene of trees and a stream.

I suppose I mean, do I suddenly realize those three books (a set by Jane Austin) are the ones I wanted most out of a large order to Dover for books? It's like the kid who wanted the one thing he did not get for Christmas more than all the rest. Or did I really want the Austin books most? How can I tell, now that they are "the forbidden fruit"?

Or at least the temporarily denied fruit.

Have read Tess and need a few novels to compare or contrast with for one of my English Literature assignments.

Either a similar or v.different text by Thomas Hardy himself.

Or a similar themed text by a contemporary of Hardy.

Ideally I should be looking at around 4 main texts that all interlink through themes etc.

I would be grateful for any ideas/ suggestions relating to other novels and Tess itself.

Just looking for a starting point.

Thank You.

In a violent and aggressive world, how would you alleviate the fear of those who feel that violence is the only answer?

If you were afraid, how would you want someone to encourage you to let go of your fears?

I just found this article it shocks me

Ghandi

MLK called his ideas of passive resistance an inspiration - so did Nelson Mandela and other prominent Black civil rights leaders. Black history in schoolbooks covers a lot of stuff on this Ghandi boy but was he a true racist redneck indian

http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=story_23-3-2005_pg4_24

"Gandhi’s desire for Indians to be segregated from blacks was so strong that he went to Johannesburg in late August of 1904 to protest the placing of blacks in the Indian section of the city"

According to the article, part of Gandhi’s attitude stemmed from his belief in the Aryan Invasion Theory, claiming that the superior white race from the Steppes subjugated darker races all across Eurasia. Gandhi refused to accept classification with ‘aboriginal’ looking ‘savages’

---

I hate both Abraham Lincoln and Ghandi; hypocrites and mother-fuckers
