I loved "Cat's Cradle" for its mix of political satire, funny characters and plot-with that twist of sarcastic but oh-so-human pessimism..
Cat's Cradle is.. Murphy's Law applied to Cold War.

So far I've only read Slaughterhouse-Five and Timequake. Timequake isn't as good as Slaughterhouse, but it is full of the dark humor that makes Vonnegut so enjoyable. It sort of shows how inevitable life is when everyone has to live 10 years over again, the good and bad, and are powerless to change the outcome.

Sirens of Titan is probably my favorite. Vonnegut mixes the unlikely hero with a series of bizarre circumstances that lead to a surprise ending.
Also love Slapstick and Galapagos for the fantastic end-of-civilization story lines.
Deadeye Dick and Breakfast of Champions are good, too.

Hocus Pocus by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
Mr. Vonnegut is well know as one of the best American authors of the twentieth century. He has a wonderful sense of humor and bring a great sense of humanity to all of his writing.
Hocus Pocus is my favorite because I think is collects all thing Vonnegut - his humor, his politics, his great characters, and his humanity.
Also Try:
Timequake
Breakfast of Champions

Look for Kilgore Trout novels, especially The Iron [something or other], which is Kilgore Trout (that is, Vonnegut) writing for Adolph Hitler. I am frankly too lazy to look up the name, but it was either the Iron Fist or the Iron Heel, as I recall. Anyway, the point being that Kilgore Trout is himself a pen name for Vonnegut, so you get several levels deep in identity issues. For Hitler, that's as close as anyone would want to get.

My personal favourite is "Hocus Pocus"
I find it to be one of Vonnegut's most entertaining novels even though it might not be as well known as some of his earlier work.
It's more structured than many of his other novels, a more traditional novel in a way but I think it's very interesting, and its caracheters seem more real than in some of his earlier novels.
