Don't Be A Stranger

Though the light shines bright
You will not enter
Why do you stand afar off
In the darkness
Is there a pain that hinders
Or is rebellion your only freedom
Does chaos reign in the intricacies
And is order just a weak realm
Will the love you seek
Be found in the dark mist
For you were issued from light
But you resist to return
If eyes do not lie
Then view mine
And find some measure
Of truth, logic and love
A shadowy step
I offer you to climb
So that your brightness
Will be brighter than mine

I'm left-handed and I'm not sure about what I need to buy, besides a guitar (duh). I've seen those beginner packs but not any for left-handed people.. so could someone provide me with a list of equipment I need to start playing? Some recommendations for each would be cool too.

eyes of pain

I saw her skinny legs from a mile away,
How she walked and ran straight my way.
As she approached, her hair a mess,
On her body a filthy dress.

She came my way a little at first,
Her eyes devoured my drink with pure thirst.
I offered her the rest, and to my dismay,
She bolted, and she ran away.

I thought I'd seen her once before,
Rooting in trash, outside my door.
Her eyes, that's what I saw...were mean,
As if no love, those eyes had ever seen.

Around the corner, I found her there,
That little girl with the matted hair.
A tear dropped down her filthy cheek,
As she gave me just a subtle little peek.

She turned and ran without a word,
Tripped and stumbled, her pain I heard.
I've never seen that little girl again,
The tiny little thing, one without sin.

I wrote this for Shadow and it still ranks as one of the most sad things I've ever written. It is still for Shadow, but I don't think she'll mind if I share it with you again.

Ode To Poe

Dark, decrepit, dreary damned night
Fills my bowels with stones of fright
My eyes shift from the left to the right
While shadows dance in the pale moonlight

No human should walk the earth at this hour
Per chance to meet some unearthly power
I watch, I listen, I dodge, I cower
While heart burns, stomach churns, and mouth tastes sour

The cold wind howls with evil glee
Anticipating my destiny
I know some spectre waits for me
To rend, to end mortality

I watch it standing up ahead
With fingers of bone and eyes of red
Beckoning me to join the dead
I change my path, with feet of lead

I begin to tremble and I can swear
If only in mind, there's something here
And I die in waiting, there's death in fear
Damned night be gone, glorious dawn appear

I'm learning guitar and I only know a couple of chords, but how do I strengthen my fingers, and toughen my fingertips up? Any tips are helpful. I heard from someone (can't remember who) to put rubbing alcohol on my fingertips after playing and it can help a little, but it doesn't seem to help that much. Other than just keep playing (which I'm doing) anything I can do?

I think this is a very tough question given the modern morals we have, but I have often pondered it. I am an avid student of history and particularly like the Roman era. There was a picture from a book I read that showed a noble woman having her hair styled by a female maid servant, while another hand maid put on her sandals.

If I had grown up in an era where such was the norm, I am pretty sure I would have a slave. To be served to such a degree is tempting even now. I would love to have a maid wait on my every need. I know this seems outrageous, but I am sure many of us would have given into such temptation in the past.

Hey,

I live in Orlando Florida, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any OPEN casting calls for teenagers. I am 14, won't be 15 until november, 5'9, african american, and slender. If you have any ideas, please let me know. I am interested in something for Disney Channel, but I am also VERY open to other ideas.

Thank you :]

A question that seems to me, legitimate, though misplaced and inappropriate as an answer to a question about the German Holocaust.

The series of US wars in the west generally known as Indian wars weren't characterized by massacres by US troops. Some did occur, most notably at Sand Creek and Wounded Knee. The best testimony to this truth is illustrated by the fact those two events are frequently, almost exclusively cited as 'typical' by those who'd have us believe it.

The same isn't true of the war behavior of the tribes. A person wishing to encapsulate tribal massacres in a single event would have too large a deck to draw from.

But those were wars involving the US citizenry deliberately and calculatedly driving the residents off their land by armed force without compensation.

I'm not particulary bothered by it.

How about you?

I'm pretty curious about how people around me, and even I, will look like after a certain period of time (such as 10 years, 20 years or even 40 years). But searching about such a subject on Yahoo or Google doesn't help. Is there a type of machine that can predict our facial changes? No jokes plz!

For instance, think of your imagination as a blank landscape or canvas being constantly filled with ideas. This mental landscape is our personal haven where our thoughts are free to roam. Eventually, they can be expressed and integrated with the works of art or literature we create.

You can use singular words or just thoughts to describe it but I prefer your answers to be descriptive and thoughtful too.
