In the time spanning from 1970-1979

My boyfriend frequently refers to a highly unusual book he once read about the devil and his son living amongst everyday people, partly takes place in a underground subway. the man cuts the back of his own calf and eats it as a form of communion. In the book they cook and prepare a baby stew to feed to the homeless people at the shelter. He can't remember the name and i've been searching everything and can find nothing! The book sounds totally demented yet highly interesting, prompting my search. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Africans were brought to America against their will in the 17th and 18th centuries. But since the abolishment of slavery, has it actually benefit them since they are now living in a much better society today than if they were still living in Africa?

What I am taliking about is what you see everywhere, whenever you go into a convinient store/supermarket/mall.
Its all of the psychological tricks they try to use so that you can spend more of your money. Consumer psychology, all of this which funny enough my girl-friend studies at the university, I find this morally wrong. To play on peoples sub-conscious, feed on their weaknesses just so that company can increase their capitol, while at the same time over pricing goods and paying minimum wages for the emplyees.
Yet most people, even though they themselves are victims of this, seem not to care about it. Why?I dont understand it?
People who work in these places, students whos major are related to this and just people in general, they just dont care!
Is it not possible to have a society based on honesty and education,
rather then ignorance and explotation and still be in business?
Why must we exlpoit and deceive each other? Why should we contribute to this mess? to hell with them!

I once heard a lecturer state that "the greatest victory for someone who conducts a propaganda campaign would be to make losers feel like winners." How do you interpret this assertion? Serious answers only, please.

Here: (the whole story is gonna be really long, so i just want to know if its written alright so far.)

The large, white Delta plane soared in the sky. Obeying the pilots’ hands, it turned slowly to begin facing the final destination. Eyes closed on the plane as it sluggishly approached the landing spot. BOOM! The plane’s tiny wheels hit the cement ground. It zoomed down the slab of concrete. Men in bright yellow-green suits directed the plane with vivid, orange cones.
By then, the plane ran slow as it approached the terminal. “You may now unfasten your seatbelts,” the young stewardess sounded on the speakers.
“Thank God!” exclaimed 15 year old Jen Forman. She unfastened her plain, gray seatbelt and grabbed her black backpack. “I feel sick.”
“Don’t worry, you’ll feel better,” her dad, Dallas, soothed.
“You’re not the only one…” Seth, her 17 year old brother, trailed off. He leaned over and put one of his hands over his stomach.
“Here,” Dallas said as he grabbed a Tums pack from his navy blue backpack. “Take two of ‘em.”
Seth nodded, stuck two pale red tablets in his mouth, and began chewing them. He handed the Tums pack to Jen. “Thanks,” she said. She did the same and handed the pack back to Dallas. He shoved them back in his bag.
“Please check to make sure that you’ve grabbed all of your personal belongings,” the speakers sounded again. It added, “Thank you for flying with Delta.”
“You kids got everything?” questioned Dallas.
“Yep,” answered Seth as Jen nodded.

Ok, I'm finding it VERY hard to figure out the "stressed" and "unstressed" words... I tried to give this poem some...idk... pattern or something. What i did was the first stanza has 5 syllables per line, then the second one has 6 syllables per line. Then the third stanza has 5 syllables per line, and the last stanze has 6 syllables per line.
so i attempted to do this 5,6,5,6 syllable thing...idk... i don't think it works. I don't get how to mark the stressed and unstressed syllables... so idk if they're in the correct order...

but does this seem to make sense? :
))))))))))))))))))))))))

Fading into black,
becoming nothing.
Disappearing quick,
attempting to breathe.
To see becomes hard,
sinking seems about right,
that's all I'm doing.

Finding the purity,
it appears difficult.
Wondering aimlessly,
like some lonesome, old fool.
The black seems to cover,
all that really mattered.
Being lost seems so clear.

Quivering hands search,
for an opening,
where some hope remains.
Such a hard task here,
might I survive this?
A lack of faith here,
dying comes easy.

Having to think quickly,
I’ve taken the wrong path.
It was an accident,
that cannot be erased,
or simply forgotten.
Continue to search hard,
For the small speck of light.

I’ll find it one day,
just not at the moment.

))))))))))))))))))))))))

So what do you think?? Does it seem to flow well?

Did J.D.Salinger write this book about himself, and was it a stab at mankind? Although this book is written in a very simple manner, its depths are frightening. I was influenced by this book when I first read it. In fact, it changed some of my lifetime opinions on humanity.

And yes, I know controversial assasins like Lee Harvey Oswald, and Mark Chapman had the book on their person when arrested.
