Look for some good local agents.
They will keep you on their books and try to find you work.
You could also try writing to various TV programmes - such as soaps asking if they have any scenes which require a lot of extras coming up

Sure, you want to get in touch with extra's casting agents (sometimes under the title of walk-on agents or background artistes agents).

where would you like to be an extra???? there are hundreds of em all over the place and its a cut throat world to get in! the extras are worse than the stars!

Get papers like "The Stage" and look for adverts. Try contacting theatrical agents (yellow pages) but that, of course, would cost money.
