people in the US generally work 50 weeks of every year, just to get a 2 week vacation. if they're lucky. they're like slaves. after work they are allowed a football game and a beer, and this makes them happy. on the weekend they are happy if they can just sleep. retirement is when work is replaced by trying to fix the health problems you've attained over the years, many that went unnoticed for quite a while.
shouldn't there be more to life? I don't think we're here just to put on a suit and tie every day, go to meaningless meetings, where you see other people in suits use corporate jargon to say nothing. and they take forever to say nothing.
any thoughts?

I read a book as a child, the authors first or last name was Lowri. The main character's best friend was a worm who had a green hat. The book i remember had a red bus on the front and the character travelled round the world visiting different places including London. Trying to find out what book this is.

I was wondering your thoughts on the validity of self-publishing. Ive been trying to publish a novel and a chapbook of poetry for years and I just fired my agent. I would like to buy a lens for my wifes new camera. She would like to have a lens that takes better pictures from far away. She has the 50mm-80mm lens that comes with the camera, but would like to upgrade. I have around $500 to invest. I am not even sure if this is enough. I think she would like to be able to take pictures from about 50 feet away. Help, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
