Anger is a state of mind. If you go to never-ending state of being angry and you need it like a coffee to start your day - then it is a vice. The other answerer who said that how you handle anger is a virtue is partially correct, that is if it is dealt with properly and without harming others.

Patience is a virtue. Anger is a vice. However, some good can come from anger if you're fired up about the right things. To be angry about an injustice is good because it may push you to take actions that need to be taken to correct the situation. Anger can be channelled in a positive way & give you energy to make good changes you need to make.

Anger is a natural feeling and a natural emotion. And like anything else, can be just or not.
Anger is a virtue when it is allowed to be felt naturally for just causes.
Anger is not a vice; however, it may be that the violence which may stem from anger is a clear signal that the anger was repressed for too long and not given it's natural and just emotions. Violence is clearly a disorder which comes from unvented and repressed anger.
So in short, I would say anger is a natural virtue if addressed and handled well.

Well Seem to be in a permanent state of anger , but i regard it as a virtue , one finds so many Phlegmatic plodding self centred people etc, etc filling the gaps that my righteous anger swells within me .
This phlegmatic people , would not be honest about their feelings like the angry , one but wait for the opportunity to stab someone inn the back to gain WHATEVER .
And then as human nature is not value it and have the need to set the whole thing in motion again ad infinituum ad Nuseaum

Anger, when used constructively, is a virtue. Destructively, it is a childish thing. It is not a vice until in is used as a crutch.

anger is morally neutral. It is a reaction to a stimulus, not an action in and of itself.

Therefore, the moral question is not "if" you get mad, but "why". Why did you get mad?

If anger is a virtue, then what can be said about a husband who get angry and beat his wife because she burnt the meatloaf?

If anger is a vice, what could be said about the American revolutionaries, who turned their anger at British Colonialism into a free country?

Neither....virtue and vice (good and bad) are subjective and don't have meaning without context.

Are cars a virtue or a vice?

Are virtues vices or cars?

This is where Aristotle's golden mean comes in handy.
Anger can be a virtue in the right amounts but a vice in excess.
Anger is useful and good if it spurs us to action, to stand up for ourselves or other people when there is good reason. Anger is destructive and bad if it leads to pointless stewing or violence.
