I read a book as a child, the authors first or last name was Lowri. The main character's best friend was a worm who had a green hat. The book i remember had a red bus on the front and the character travelled round the world visiting different places including London. Trying to find out what book this is.

You're looking for Richard Scarry's "Busy, Busy World" starring, among others, Lowly Worm! Red double decker bus, the Eiffel Tower, and a Venetian gondolier are on the cover, and the book includes the story "Pip Pip Goes to London" and 32 others.

The author is Richard Scarry. The book is from the Lowly Worm series. Just type "Lowly Worm" into a search engine and you should be able to find which book you are looking for.

Sounds like a Richard Scary book. Lowly was the worms' name. His books are still in print.

i remember that book. i had the whole series. the worm travelled around in an apple shaped bus and the ginger cat travelled with him sometimes or in the public bus. :)

I forget the title, but it's hugely famous. Someone will know. We used to hunt every page for the little goldbug, which was usually there.
