If the name of a place is substituted for the townspeople that live there, what literary device would it be?

In context: "What if Eatonville could see her now in her blue denim overalls and heavy shoes?"

Thanks!

I'm already familiar with Abbie Burgesses' story and want to read it, but if anyone knows any other books or internet sources I'd be grateful.

i have decided to do a story on a teenage girl that lives on a ranch in Kentucky. I want to make it for ages 12 to 15 or around that area somewhere.

So... of couse i want the story to be about a girl, some teenage drama, horse stuff, and a lil bit of love.

But i don't want it to be like all those other series, like "Phantom Stallion" or "Hearland"

Do you have any ideas for my story...???

Simon should have criticized him more. All he said was "I think that girls face says it all."

Can someone please help me translate or describe what this poem means. It is by Emily Dickinson.

The Bee is not afraid of me.
I know the Butterfly.
The pretty people in the Woods
Receive me cordially—

The Brooks laugh louder when I come—
The Breezes madder play;
Wherefore mine eye thy silver mists,
Wherefore, Oh Summer's Day?

So basically my life is dancing, 6 days a week, out til like 10 every night, you know the drill. So I'm in junior high, and I will admit I'm definately stronger than most girls my age. I like wearing tight-ish shirts and short skirts to school. Anyways, so I was just sitting in class, and this guy comes up to me and asks, "Are you diesel? Do you lift weights?" Well, I'm extremely girly, so being super muscular isn't exactly on the top of my list (especially because the guy that asked me is kinda cute....)....... Also, when I stand in first, I have a little trouble putting my heels together because my calf muscles are kinda big....... They're not that big, but do you think it's okay for a girl to be like pretty muscular looking (I'm talking about arms and legs, because I'm no where near a six pack)???? Thanks in advance!

I have been asked to enter the pageant and I would like to. I am interested in classic songs like dola re dola, but this song is meant for a group dance. I have to think of a good solo dance.

How was Nazism an outgrowth of the conditions of post-WWI Germany? Discuss the political, economic, and social context of post-WWI Germany that allowed for the success of Hitler and the Nazis. Please make a list of things for each category if you can. It will really help out.

thank you

What Is Success?

What is success?
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by
a healthy child, a garden patch
or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed
easier because you have lived;
That is to have succeeded.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

i dont really know the thesis of this poem so if you can help me on that i would reallyy appreciate it!!!

As I said, many people have told me that I have a great singing voice, I just can't seem to get over stage fright and that people might make fun of me because I hit a wrong note. Help!

I need 5 similarities. They need to relate to the plot and characters and how Shakespeare developes them. I would really apprciate it since I dont understand the writing style that Shakespeare used.
