Actually, that girl was a plant. She said in an interview that she cried so much during dress rehearsal, they wanted her in the show, too.
They put her in a choice seat up front where she would be seen. She may have liked Sanjaya a lot, but I think she's well on her way to being a professional crier.
Want some tears? Hire her.

Why is this question in the history section. Unless your interpretation is that Sanjaya should have been history!! How he ever made it to Hollywood, never mind to the top ten blows my mind. He's a nice kid who just can NOT sing. He is dwarfed by the talent this year, yet he manages to squeak through week after week. Calls into question the quality of America's judgment in singing.

I don't think so. I think that girl is crazy about Sanjaya.
You could tell by the way she hugged him. She also got to go up and hug all the other Idols at the end of the show. She absolutely loves Sanjaya. You could certainly see that on her face as he was singing.
Simons comment was the way he felt!!

No, she's one of those crazed fan girls. Sanjaya is just another Kevin Covais, with all of his 11 year old fans.

It has nothing to do with his singing. She's a "tween" and madly in love with him..... like many other tweens across the country who keep voting for him like mad. It has nothing to do with his singing, in the " tween" world he is another Elvis. The 12-13 year old adore him.
