I have a condition known as high functioning Aspergers syndrome (go to http://www.udel.edu/bkirby/asperger/ for more info). This means that I have trouble reading peoples emotional state, however I can clearly read social trends (that is something I have no trouble with) and since I am not pulled along with every fad and new idea I can stand back and observe.

What I have observed is that people are losing the ability to think for themselves as our global networks grow larger. People seem to be going along with any new idea or fad and ignoring the evidence (which has never been closer to hand) for whatever reason (this is the part I cannot read).

My question is are people losing their ability to think, giving it up to those who are no more qualified than to ask "Would you like fries with that?"? And why (or not) would this be the case that people are not looking for the information that they need and re-disseminating information that is worthless?

I'm looking for a high-quality, digital camera that doesn't require taking out a loan. On the other hand, I'm not looking for a point and shoot. This isn't for family vacations and scrapbooking. I'm looking to do serious work and possibly open my own studio if things go in the right direction.

Back in college, I took a few fiction writing courses. I really enjoyed the format of the class--we'd write our short stories, and then all get together in a group for a critique, where everyone, students and professor, would give constructive criticism. Everyone was honest in their reviews, and didn't sugar coat anything, but they weren't needlessly harsh, either.

It seems like most of the places I've found on the web look down on constructive criticism in favor of the "oh, you're so GOOD!" approach, which is sweet, but completely unhelpful. I'd really like to find a workshop, group, whatever on the web with good writers who are able to give meaningful feedback. Any ideas? Thanks.:)

Published as a supplement to The San Francisco Examiner on Sunday, July 5, 1896. Has directions to cut out and put together as a minature theater. I assume it is a paper pullout. Seems to be in perfect condition.
