I'm writing a historical fiction story about a girl dressing up as a boy to compete in the ancient olympics but I need to know if they were allowed to compete in the first place, because if they were....well...I don't have much of a story anymore.

Is there a reason for the harsh treatment to the Japanese Prisoners of war [WWII] besides the fact that the prisoners were the enemy.

Some information about the Bataan Death March.
The US had to surrender to the Japanese on the Bataan Peninsula and had to walk about 65 miles to the nearest interment camp. Some were bayoneted if they fell and buried alive and etc.

We purchased a large oil painting that is potentially fairly valuable...but it does need to be cleaned. It's prior owner was a heavy smoker and the painting looks like it is covered with yelllow cigarette smoke residue. Any suggestions for cleaning this at home??? Thank you.

Likely this question is specific to your own locale, but please offer your insights anyway. I tend to think there is a shortage of people willing to sacrifice their time in order to lead others (in the sense of organizing events and making it all happen, not simply bossing others around). I think the leaders are not doing their job, and have simply dropped out.
