Dred scott certainly because it ruled that slaves were property and property under the constitution is protected. Next would be Compromise of 1850 because it caused california to go as a free state broke the balance. One that you didn't mention but could is John Brown harper's ferry, Uncle Tom's cabin, those are good ones. One brought violenece and the other brought the ideology of morality to the whole situation. Henry Beecher Stowe the author of uncle Tom's cabin was an attack on the institution of slavery. When Lincoln met her he said "so this is the little woman who caused the war".
