Likely this question is specific to your own locale, but please offer your insights anyway. I tend to think there is a shortage of people willing to sacrifice their time in order to lead others (in the sense of organizing events and making it all happen, not simply bossing others around). I think the leaders are not doing their job, and have simply dropped out.

I tend to lean towards more good leaders. If a leader represents the desires of the people and looks out for the welfare of the whole, followers will be a natural outcome. People will be willing to sacrifice time and energy for one who can make a difference if they believe in his sincerity and grit.

I completely agree. There is a need for more leaders. However, not all leaders are going to be worthwhile. For example, we elect our leaders, but that dosen't mean that we're all of the time satisfied. This question really has stumped me. Indeed there is a need for more leaders, but there is no significant process is finding an all around good leader. True, we can have elections, we can have conferences, but there always comes an issue at which any leader will become stumped.

Sometimes I don't think leaders have dropped out, I just simply think that is what happens to them. Anyways, to answer the question without any controversial answer, yes, we need more leaders, but we need more followers as well.

Above it all, we need more people in general who know what they want and how to get it (in a moral way). No matter what they are, leaders, or followers.

Well, methinks it's hard. In my honest opinion, look how long some of these leaders have been in place. plus it is complicated to figure out which one(s) were corrupted from the start. Meaning their own ambitions, or social way of living, or just out to conquer the world.(Now on THAT I say this: It is tougher to conquer the world with a sword now, but gold, there's a different strategy.) And most of the leaders who do try to make a difference have trouble trying to get support from their peers. I'm just saying that once something is corrupted, it's hard to fix it.

We need leaders who will lead not hinder.
Being a leader means you are thinking of the well being of many or sometimes few.
We need leaders, that will stand up and do what needs to be done without some alternate motive.

The followers that should be leaders cannot become leaders if the leaders that should be followers do not become followers. We need the right leaders and followers in addition to more leaders.

I agree with you wholeheartedly that leaders have not invested time to lead others. I think that we need more leaders who are willing to sacrifice themselves for their messages and the knowledge which they are spreading to others. I think there are too many people in today's society following behind one group, one race, one religion, and it's just wrong!

There is a general quote by a giant of a Rabbi. He said: "Leaders misguide their followers But people cannot thrive without leaders"
