Be kind of hard for a woman to perform in the ancient Olympics dressed as a man.

The Olympians were naked.

Women were considered lower-class or second-class citizens. The Olympics were considered an recreational event and the people did not think that the women should be allowed to compete.

yes and no. women did not compete in the traditional male olympics, but were only allowed to watch. however, because of this, the women of ancient greece developed their own olympics designed for women.

no but yes, sorta.

in ancient olympics were strictly men. so women decided to want to play and they developed their own olympics, in which only women played

your story can still go since you can say she wants to join the men's olympics. but the only problem is that...well the olympics were pretty much done with out any cloth on the body...i don't know how your going to pull that off

Everybody at the Olympics competed NAKED!!!
Women weren't even allowed to watch.

Sorry - find a new idea, or a new 'Venue' for your story.
One reason for the nudity was to avoid any chance of a woman getting in.

No, I don't think girls were even allowed to participate in or even watch the Olympics in ancient times. Girls practically couldn't do anything back then, with the rights they had.

No. If I remember my history correctly, they were totally naked. Women were not allowed to watch. Mainly men participated, because it was a religious festival for men. Proper women were not allowed as spectators. It was said that women who were caught would be thrown off a cliff. There were a few women who did participate, though it was rare.

This should help.

In ANCIENT Olympics?

I'm pretty sure the answer would be no.

The people back then were sexists. I seriously doubt that they would allow girls into it.

But the girls had their own thing to compete in.

Short answer? No, they didn't. However, if you are writing a historical fiction story you should do a good research, instead of relying on what people tell you on yahoo answers.

No. Ancient Greece was a male dominated society. Women had very few rights.
