I was making some block prints and thought I would make some of them in color, and when I went to go put the color on, it smeared! I know, I know, I should have read the bottle more carefully, but I thought it meant water soluble(sp?) for clean up, you know, when it's still wet, and non water soluble when dry, like acrylics. I tried black acrylic, but it gums up too easily and isn't as nice and dark as the printing ink. Is there anything else I can do? I don't like the fact that even if I wanted to keep my print just black and white it would still 'run' if it got wet. Please advise, and if you know of anything, please let me know what and where to get it. The stores around here are limited at best and the catalogs I have now have the basic stuff only. (I am concerned with permanance.) Also, I have seen oil based print ink, but will this rot paper? How could I make the paper more rot proof? Sorry to ask so many questions within a question. LOL!!! Thanks! :)

role does faith play in philosophy? Isn't all knowledge based upon something else? Does there come a point where truth cannot be questioned? And if so, then how can that point be percieved, and integrated, into any being that seeks after it without becoming the essence of that truth? When we become that truth; what will our perspective be like then? Will we be able to remain a sepatate part of it and be able to tell others about it? I guess what I want to know is, "Is faith (a tangible part of being), what it is that we all are seeking? --- lots of questions, i know, but; are we seeking something tangible, or intangible; and what is the nature of it?

Hi all. I have finished writing and revising my first novel. My resolution for this year is to send letters and e-mails to as many agents as possible.

Question 1: Does ne1 know of a website with a list of agencies, agents, etc?

Question 2: If you use a publishing agency as a subsidy (you pay for a certain number of books to be published, but they mail, advertise, and stock your book for a minimum of 2 years..if the books depleated in those 2 years, they will re-print for free) are you still considered a "published author?"

Thanks for the help!

Happy New Year!

I would like to become a Film director one day and was wondering if it would be worth my money/time to enroll in our college's "begnning acting class".

I was always told that any director should have some kind of acting background and "it would be good to know what it is like to be on the recieving end".

But at the same time, I've been told that it is quite different and might "hinder my way of thinking as a director".

I'm actually torn between two classes: "Beginning acting" and "Sound Design". Which class would prove more worthy?

It would be great to hear from both directors AND actors. Let your opinions and experiences gush out so that I may become more wise in this decision.
