In the 1950s, television became a hit. In the beginning of the decade, 9 percent of American households had a television, over 50 percent had one by 1954, and 86 percent had them by the end of the decade.

I would not subscribe to those figures. I lived then and they are very far off. I would find more research, if I were you. We did not own a telvision in the 50's. Nor did any of my friends. They were just too expensive.

Sounded too high to me, so I looked it up:
US homes with TV:
1950 10 million
1960 45 million

US households:
1950 43.5 million
1960 52.6 million

% US households with TV:
1950 23%
1960 85.5 %

These numbers are a lot higher than I would have thought.

i'm searching ahead to the 360's successor. Microsoft has been patenting issues left and good. 2 significant ones are the recent EYEWRITER, DVR rights. Them combining with nokia can also provide the skill of going cellular. Nokia plans to launch an "IPhone killer" probably this year or early next. i envision many good issues form microsoft as they made many imaginitive breakthroughs. i'm aslo searching foward to what Google has to carry to the table. In time they plan to hitch the console market.
