Im writing a childrens chapter book about fairies and I'm stuck. Its about a girl who is fairy named Melina and she hasnt discovered it yet. She was put on earth when she was a baby by her father, the fairy king to save her from the dark fairy, her mothers sister. Her father dies trying to save her. She is found by newlyweds and they decide to raise her. On the night of her 13th birthday, her guardian fairy comes down to earth to bring her to "fairyland", its in the clouds. She meets her mother there (the fairy queen) and discovers a lot about her past. She then is trained to use magic. And goes on a journey with Terra to save herself and Fairyland. She tries to defeat the DARK FAIRY, Maladora!!!

Im not sure how the journey starts or what happens after that.
I really would appreciate some ideas and comments.
I'm trying to do this a little bit Cornelia Funke style. This book probably sounds silly to most of you, but all the kids i've asked loved the idea and this is a kids book!

Saddam loses death sentence appeal
Quote

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - An Iraqi appeals court on Tuesday upheld a ruling that Saddam Hussein should hang for crimes against humanity, Iraq's national security adviser told Reuters.

Under the statute governing the Iraqi High Tribunal, the death sentence must be carried out within the next 30 days.

The former Iraqi leader and two former aides were sentenced to death in November for crimes against humanity over the killings of 148 Shi'ites from the town of Dujail after he escaped assassination there in 1982.

"The court just upheld the verdict and sentence," Iraq's national security adviser Mowaffaq al-Rubaie told Reuters.

I'm considering starting Gymnastics, but I've been told that it'll negatively affect my ballet performance, because it makes you muscular rather than the wispy look that is a distinct look of Ballet. I've been doing ballet for 10 years, and am considering going pro. Will Gymnastics make it harder to train at the Royal Ballet School, considering the thing they care most about after skill is aesthetics?

Do you know about any hidden "easter eggs" or anything on the J. K. Rowling website? How about the password for the W.O.M.B.A.T. thing? Anything would be helpful, thanks.

I love to write and even have a few things published, mostly poetry with Blue Mountain Arts - the greeting card company. I wondered if there are any other writers here.

Is sexism is merely an inequal belief in one sex or another? So if you believe that one gender is superior to another do you define yourself as sexist? From an egalitarian point of view i don't consider either to be superior, but that's mainly because i don't care. I'm just curious about what other people think.

What defines a true artist (traits, gifts, expression) versus a fake.

List other arts than the obvious: drawing, painting, and music.

Hello!

I just got a new camera and I'm pretty new to photography.

It's a Kodak Z650. I want to be able to take very close up photos of my aquarium fish, and my ferrets.

It has macro mode, but I was wondering, the camera also has PASM mode where I can change the aperature, ISO, etc. What values should I set it at to take quality close up photos?

If more info is needed, let me know.

Has another writer explored the viewpoint of Mayella in To Kill A Mockingbird? Rather than a false accusation of rape, what about the violence of a father towards a daughter. Racism between Caucasians and Africans is there, but it exists even between different groups in Asia. Women are treated poorly in many cultures.
A: Actually, that's a very good idea indeed. Many authors have taken over characters from other stories and incorporated them into a whole new storyline. Musician from Bridgeport CT wrote a song..."Daughters" - about this. Book of Job even ends with with father having to treat the daughters as equals with the sons/brothers. Interesting...

Hi. I hope some real ballet experts and aficionados can help me with this one. I'm creating a computer generated, 3D animated ballerina. In order to show off my animation skills, I'd like her to do some really amazing, dramatic, breathtaking moves. So, need to see some ballet videos for reference. Can anyone recommend which classic ballets would have the most impressive, stunning female solos? I can only deal with one figure at a time for now so they really need to be solos. Here are some images to show the kind of thing I'm looking for. Thanks.
