I am a photographer and on ocassion, I get asked to shoot at weddings and such. This weeked I had to shoot a wedding, but the priest did not allow flash photography inside. This is NOT a famous church, rather a small community temple, and this is NOT a well lit place. It has low stained glass windows all around (which burned when I exposed for the couple) and very orange tungsten lights... I was forced to use ISO1600 with my fastest (f/1.4) lens. I did OK, but I am wondering WHY DO SOME CHURCHES PROHIBIT FLASH??? Maybe a priest can help answer this...

I have really eclectic taste in books. I will usually grab for mysteries or thrillers first, but I will basically read anything that is not a romance novel if it's well-written. Some of my favorite popular authors are Walter Mosely, John Grisham, Mo Hayder, John Irving, Graham Greene, and Amy Tan. I also love Harlen Coben and Patricia Cornwell.

I also really like unusual books with strong characters that tell a story of a unique place, time, or situation. For example, almost any Stephen King book, DBC Pierre, or "Memoirs of a Geisha."

Looking forward to your answers... and thanks in advance!

Drawing has been my favorite thing since Kindergarden and I already know for a fact that I want to become an artist (or a manga writer) but for some reaon lately I haven't been satisfied with the way my art has been turning out. And most of the stuff that I used to think was my best looks like crap and I just can't seem to get it right even though I've drawn it about a million times!

What's wrong with me?
