Lots of different reasons.
Dr. Johnson once said:
""No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money."
and that's why some write - for the money.
Or , they write in the hope of attaining fame - though the poet Austin Dobson wrote: ""Fame is the food that dead men eat."
And some write because they have something to say to a wide audience that forces them to express themselves.
Some write to purge themselves of unwanted emotions/memories - catharthis.
Some write in the hope of changing people's lives, perhaps even changing the world.
And, I suppose a few write because the actually enjoy doing it.
Of course, all the above are possible "primary reasons." I suspect most authors have more than just one reason for writing fiction

Assuming for a moment, "there are no more original thoughts" many enjoy reading and creating FICTION as alternatives to other options.
I personally write most often in NON, but even the grandest historians enjoy embellishing.
BTW,,, it really isn't DE inventing, but expressing FIRE in a very personal, if similar way, to any others interpretation of it.

It relies upon on what type of motivation you're looking for. Are you searching for non secular motivation? Are you searching for a renewed view on the international or are you attempting to be open to new opportunities? do you opt for to be entertained, scared, or fall in love? I actually have cabinets of astounding fiction books that conceal any such vast quantity of issues...attempt some thing by technique of Andrew Greeley, attempt a e book by technique of Jodi Picult, have you ever examine Harry Potter or the Pendragon series? How about Diane Duane's so that you opt for to be a Wizard series? or perchance you want the Sisterhood of the vacationing Pants or between the Vampire books by technique of Anne Rice. upward push up and flow on your interior sight library and troll by skill of the cabinets, or flow to borders and merely go searching. there's a e book accessible for you merely waiting that you'll discover it!

Many do it because there's a story rolling around in their heads that won't leave them alone until they get it down on paper. They say that's how the song "Puff the Magic Dragon" got written, the writer was thinking about dragons and he typed the lyrics on his friend's typewriter. His friend then came up with a tune for it.

Have you ever said, "What if...", like when things go a certain way and you wonder if something had not happened that way, what might have happened? That is the beginning of fiction writing. Like, what if you had never been born? What if you had a toad for a pet? Things like that.
