The One
Thirty years old And still longing to find
The girl of my dreams The one that is mine
I've been to the parties, The bars and the parks
I've given my money, My time and my heart
I thought it was this one, Or that one, or her
But then after all, I wasn't so sure
So where is this angel That God sent for me
The one that they said I'd know when we meet
Did I miss her, did I know her, Is fate really true
Or did he forget mine When he sent one to you
Or maybe she's coming A little bit late
Maybe awaiting The appropriate date
So what do I do Just wait til I'm old
Sleep in this bed All my life all alone
Or do I just settle for For the first pretty girl
That smiles real big When I give her a twirl
A cozy warm bed Seems easier to me
Even though she's not quite Who I thought she would be
It all seems so hard, I can't get it straight
I'm tired of waiting For the hands of fate
I guess the stars know more than I'll ever see
I guess I'll just leave it to the powers that be
I hope I'm not busy The day that she comes
I don't think I will be If she's really the one
I believe that this waiting Will be worth the time
For the girl of my dreams The One that is mine

These are two of my poems...
Miracles
Peaceful calm serenity,
Wonders God has granted me.
Laughter was His greatest gift,
Meant to lighten and uplift.
Precious memories kept so close,
Happy times that mean the most.
Happy days with family,
Blessings God has granted me.
Miracles the whole world wide,
To warm your soul deep inside.
Makes life worth the fight,
And fills your heart with light.
So much to be thankful for,
Whether we are rich or poor.
We are all given happy days,
And blessed in so many ways.
Thankful
A warm summer breeze,
blowing through the trees.
Autumns colors turning,
thier lovely hues burning.
A fire burning bright,
on a cold winters night.
Children laughing at play,
on a sunny spring day.
Sun rise every day,
chasing darkness away.
The gentle fall of rain,
tapping on the window pane.
Close bond with a friend,
a tie that will never end.
Days spent with family,
sharing memories happily.
Little things that mean so much,
like a smile or a gentle touch.
Many things to be thankful for,
whether we are rich or poor.
Gifts granted from above,
fill our lives with lasting love.
Blessings our whole lives through,
promises for me and for you.

Make a poem saying thanks for what life has given you and include some of the stuff that you had lived good or bad. Think about it a little bit.

Darn it, no dog poems? Ok, probably I'd write about my cat!
