I am trying to copyright my poetry, some photography and a spoken word CD I recorded, I heard if you mail everything to yourself and don't open it when you receive it that can be considered a form of copyrighting, is this true? Should I mail the package to myself?

I know none of us have magic ball, but I was talking to my professor and he said that the continent of Africa is going thru it's dark ages, mainly because of Imperialism. He also concluded that it would take the next 200-500 years before they ever really unscramble. I guess in the grand scheme of long term history 200-500 yrs is not a long time.

MY QUESTION FOR YOU

1. But do you all think that he is right?
2. Do you think that the any of the African nations will ever rise to world power status?

This is for my novel. Since my setting takes place in Arizona, I have some characters who are Mexican or Spanish. So any Basque, Spanish, Chicano, Latino, Hispanic or Mexican list of last names would be great? Even a website would be help too.
