i would say the questions of ethics...why is because ethics define how the world works, what is acceptable, what is not... and defines the consequences to our actions in a sociological aspect. the answers to these questions of rightness/correctness is why our world exists in the fashion it does. and the difference in the questions answers is why all wars are fought. I can't think of any other question/s that makes as pronounced of an effect on society or one that has killed as many people.

IS THIS REALLY GONNA MAKE ME THINK LIKE GOD?
what Eve asked the snake when she was lured to eat the fruit of the Tree of knowledge.
it didnt just make a great impact, it became our very nature to think so.

the question is "why?" it begs an answer, forces those to seek it , if not for themselves then for the person asking. looking for the answer opens up the door to imagination, knowledge. why is the most asked , most important question anyone can ask.
