ok. First party system is Federalists vs. Democratic-Republicans, and lasts from about 1796 to 1820. The Federalists die out, there's a one party system, and then Andrew Jackson comes along. The Second Party System is Jackson's Democrats vs. the new party called the Whigs, led by Henry Clay and Daniel Webster, amongst others. Due to the slavery issue, this party dies out about 1854 or so. The third party system then emerges - Democrats vs. Republicans, which we still have today.

I wish you would have told us what years, 1700's were Federalists, Democratic, or today would be Democrats, Republicans and Independents, and there is a Communist Party here in America I think they are the Socialist Party.
But if I were you go to the www.history.com and type in the search bar Politcs and or US Government then go to what ever else you need by scrolling pages.
