Some stories have already been printed in a local newspaper. Does the copywrite belong to the newspaper now? or can I still use them in my anthology? I'm not sure I want to go through with printing this book if it means too much trouble. It was written for family and they all have their copies. Now a local group is interested in publishing it for a fund raiser for the museum. Am I just asking for a lot of hassle to do this?

[that everyone agrees, in some little attic room of the mind where the rationality lies forgotten]


premise: everyone will agree that, if a govt committed the enormous injustice of taking 90% of income & fortune permanently off 90% of the population & gave it to 1% [so that 90% wd now have a 10th for the same work, 9% wd have the same as before, and 1% wd have 82 times as much for the same work] that that action would cause a giant increase in violence, social unrest, anger, etc and decrease social happiness [peace, safety, etc] - by a factor of say 100

corollary: and thus everyone agrees that reversing that policy wd decrease violence disturbance poblems etc and increase happiness by the same factor

premise: we humans have such injustice - a worse level of injustice [pay/hour from 1000th to a million times average, 1% getting 90%, etc]

conclusion: everyone knows [in that tiny rational corner] that we can be, like, 100 times happier

is being happier relevant to us?

ive been watching clips of les miserables play on youtube, but until now i cant understand whats the story of it... I want to download the movie, but i want to understand it first... I found an entertainment center with a broken glass door, so I removed the door that was still intact.

Its a rosey beige color. I wanted to paint some sort of oriental cherry blossom theme onto it with some black and maybe a little creme paint.

The big idea is that its hung so that it stands about an inch or two off the wall. Since its just a solid sheet of glass I wondering how I could accomplish and still maintain a pleasant clean aesthetic quality.

How would I go about drilling holes in the glass? Do they do things like this at Home Depot or Lowes? Is it difficult to do and what type of tools are required?

Or does anyone have any suggestions of how I could accomplish this look without having holes drilled?

I've been thinking about it for a while now and I can't come up with something that would look nice without drilling but I'm open to new ideas.

I stand a few feet from a tree. On the opposite side of the tree, hanging on the bark and looking at me, is a squirrel. I begin to walk in a circle that has the tree as it's center. As I walk, the squirrel stays opposite my position, its belly always facing toward me. Once I walk around the tree, have I walked around gthe squirrel?

What does this scenario say about ones definition(s) of "around"?
