80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

A question like this makes me think that you are either very depressed or very young. Either way my answer is the same.
What do you believe in? I believe in God, and I believe He is the creator of everything and that I was created for a purpose that He intended. If you are looking for a specific definition It doesn't quite work like that. You only find out who you are and what you were meant to do by trying and doing things. Finding out your sense of purpose is not so easy for most of us.
I have learned that having a talent or special ability or knowing how to make a lot of money or even knowing how to have the best kinds of relationships (friends, family, spouse, etc.) do not help me know the meaning of my life.
What gives my life meaning is at the end and beginning of each day I consider that I was put here for a reason and it is my job each day to find the thing I am supposed to do for the day. Then at the end of the day I can know that a day of life wasn't wasted.

Life does have meaning, but the meaning of life is not always clear to the person or to anyone else. Just remember that all life has meaning and no one can take away meaning, but they can change it.

The purpose of life is to have a life with purpose.

So YOUR answer will be different from mine. But the formula should be the same.

Figure out what your life is meant to be and put meaning behind it.

The word 'life' has meanings that can be found in any dictionary.

Any given 'life' is defined by the choices and actions of the being that lives that life.

Life has a meaning, but not the ones that you can just look up in a dictionary. It's our job to find that meaning, or otherwise give it a meaning.

sure - it has enormous meaning - it has total meaning - everything else pales by comparison

to experience the meaning of life by contrast, hold your breath, or put yourself in a soundproof lightproof container and dont move for several days

or imagine if all you had ever known was strapped to a table floating in a tin can alone through empty space no stars or anything

the difference is the meaning of life - enjoy

actually we are all robots working under the command of god .even my answering has been already written.if you have a wish like money etc,.you would realise that there is nothing in it when you go deep in it .i am not saying that money is not important but we dont need much.so if you have something to do to this nature there is a meaning of life but if go deep into life and want to know what is life ,there is no meaning.

Drowning in a sea of darkness I wander with a purpose that is beyond my comprehension. To live a life without love, happiness, and truth, I am guided by a single light from an unfathomable distance.A light that is blinding, unyielding,It's source is beyond imagination and seemingly untouchable.Yet it is the force that lifts. It allows me to ascend to the highest heights, but will not hold me there.I am lifted, but allowed to fall. Why am I to see the objects which might bring an end to the darkness, yet never have them?Am I doomed to the shadows?A phantom to fill the darkness,so that others may be forever without this haunting abyss? If so,then why me?Have I wronged?Am I held in darkness with only fear and loneliness for company or are my restraints a creature of my imagination? To live is to walk a path. One that challenges not only our mind and body, but also our hearts. Will you step forward in to the light, against the bonds of fear or surrender to the shadows only to exist, but never live?

That depends on each person, and what "they" think of life. The meaning of life for "me," is being happy that I awaken to another day, allowing me to learn something new. I love my husband, daughter, animals, other people, and the memories I've shared with all of them.
