I was leaning toward NY becasue you don't need a car, just use the subways, plus alot of famous actors started out in the city first... Then again LA does offer alot more work out there is is probally just as expensive, so I don't know... Any Advice??

I am in the process of writing a non-fiction, health related book--a subject I am quite familiar with. Do I contact a publisher now?? And how in the world do I know which publisher I want?? I am writing a non-fiction book about a health related topic. I want to include particular stories of real individuals, which they have written, to highlight certain points I am making. Do I have them sign a release of some kind which states they agree to no percentage of the sales of the book? Or, is it expected that a contributor to part of my book is paid somehow??
