Catherine died Catherine awoke with stomach pains and nausea. She quickly became very weak and her confessor was summoned. She dictated two letters, one to Henry and one to Charles. She received Holy Communion and extreme unction then prayed aloud for two hours. Catherine of Aragon died at 2 p.m. at Kimbolton Castle, Huntingdonshire, believed to be of cancer.

Cause of death An autopsy was carried out on Catherine's body. A black growth was found on her heart but no other abnormalities. They pronounced the growth to be caused by poisoning. It was widely believed that Anne Boleyn had slowly poisoned Catherine to death and the death of Mary was expected to follow. The news that Catherine had been poisoned spread throughout Europe.

If I remember my documentary right, I believe she was ill. Henry 8 had his marriage proved null and void by the archbishop and she was sent to live in seclusion in a very drafty and poorly heated old castle Kimbotlon. December 7, 1536.

Catherine of Aragon died in the year 1538 (i think) because King Henry VIII got her beheaded and then soon married Anne Boleyn, the supposedly witch, mother of [Queen] Elizabeth I
