I just bought the book "Flags of our Fathers", but I once read part of another book about Iwo Jima and I really liked it, but I can't remember the title or the author. My uncle died there and today is Veteran's Day, which reminded me of this.

ok. . i am going to write a poem. . one i wrote a while back and everyone tell me what they think i am saying. My mother got a trip out of this game for some reason. She is a regular Poetry Critic.

Let Me Lay with you
Letting eternity flow through
the holy pages of life
ripped from the book of the dead

let the night forever claim me
let the dirt forever age me
letting eternity flow through
the dreams melting away in my head

let the silence over come us
for never again will this soul
be blessed with temptation
or cursed with breath.

I have a little problem. I'm a bellydancer and every time I perform I get at least a few women who think I'm a hoochie and at least a few men who think I'm dancing for male sexual attention. They don't approach me and actually SAY those words, but it's obvious as to what they're thinking. My husband almost got in a fight once with a guy because the guy was talking to me like I was a common whore. Some women tell me I have low self-esteem because they say I'm not respecting my body.

What is a nice polite way to tell them they're wrong about bellydancing and that in reality it's a female-empowering spiritual art form?

do you think Wizard of Oz should still be an annual kids holiday TV special presentation thing or should Hook, be a the NEW "special presentation" type thing on TV today just like W.O.O. was to the TV kids in the 50's and 60's (and they are BOTH pretty violent so that should have NOTHING to do with your decision)

I've been searching high and low for this poem on the internet and cannot find it in its entirety. Several years ago I found it on the internet but now all I get is other spaghetti poems or how to make spaghetti, etc.

Does anyone out there in Yahoo! Answers-land happen to know this poem in it's entirety? If so, would you be willing to post it? If it's too long for Yahoo! Answers, I would appreciate a partial as your response with the remainder emailed to me through Yahoo! Answers.

Thank you so much!

In the 1916 Proclamation of the Irish Republic, Patrick Pearse wrote "In every generation the Irish people have asserted their right to national freedom and sovereignty; six times during the past three hundred years they have asserted it in arms." What were these six? I need to know what six specific incidents these were for a paper...thanks!

John Brown's body lies a-mouldering in the grave,
John Brown's body lies a-mouldering in the grave,
John Brown's body lies a-mouldering in the grave,
But his soul goes marching on.

Chorus:

He's gone to be a soldier in the Army of the Lord
He's gone to be a soldier in the Army of the Lord
He's gone to be a soldier in the Army of the Lord
His soul goes marching on.
Chorus

John Brown's knapsack is strapped upon his back
John Brown's knapsack is strapped upon his back
John Brown's knapsack is strapped upon his back
His soul goes marching on.
Chorus

John Brown died that the slaves might be free
John Brown died that the slaves might be free
John Brown died that the slaves might be free
But his soul goes marching on.
Chorus

The stars above in Heaven now are looking kindly down
The stars above in Heaven now are looking kindly down
The stars above in Heaven now are looking kindly down
On the grave of old John Brown.
Chorus
