How does it feel to be a pawn in some alien's video game? When is self awareness achieved? Is it when one of the pawns asks this question?

What are good projects/activities for a beginner who wants to learn how to draw with charcoal pencils? I'm getting quite good at pencil drawings, and now I want to add some more life/colour to my pictures so you don't have to have your face two centimeters away to see the picture! I draw very lightly. I just want to know how to do it because I have the pencils, and the paper and the drawings, but no idea how to use the charcoal. Or if you know any sites, that would be good. Thanks!

In a recent question about modern art fingersmith noted that it IS art and that people rejected the impressionists.

But p implies q is NOT the same as q implies p.

In other words, yes people historically have rejected important new art movements as crap. This does NOT mean that anything that is rejected as crap IS an important art movement.

People make this logical error all the time in all walks of life. Why?

(PS not really sure where this question lives. Is there a human behaviour section?)

It was about 2 children, sister and brother, (I think the girl was called Dorothea) and they moved to a new place, and met a new group of kids who taught them how to do all types of codes, like Morse Code, Semaphore etc. I think the boy fell out of a tree as well. It was something like 'Winter's Tale', i think, have searched on google, just cannot find it. Would love to read it again!

I'm trying to get as much information on him as possible. I beleive he is one of my ancestors. He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the American Civil War and fought with the 151st Pennsylvania Voluntary Regiment.

You take the first page and fold it into a point, you then fold the next page in half. You repeat this with every page until it becomes like a fan. Does anyone know the name of this art? I'm trying to research it but don't know where to start. please help!
