My elderly neighbor was challenged by a gentleman friend to come up witha list of all the snakes with given names in literature. She was born in the Chinese year of the snake, which is the subject that led to this challenge. She can only think of the snake in the Jungle Book. I googled "Snakes with names in fiction", but it didn't look promising. I also tried wikipedia. No luck. If this doesn't work out, I'll try my local librarian in hopes of finding a pertinent reference book. Any suggestions on where and how to find the answer either online or in a book? Barbara has 10 days left to come up with the list. Many thanks.

Do you think the final solution to the jewish question was an intentional goal of Hitler, evident through his world view shown in Mein Kampf, or that the chaotic nature of Nazi rule, and the lack of clear goals, (rather people tried to interpret the abstract concept of Hitler's will) made radicalization of persecution inevitably lead to genocide?

Every year i sign up for C.A.P.S. and I never get to be a member. I checked out the people who are on it this year, and the previous years. Not one of those people are not popular. I asked around to see what people wrote on the questionare they had to fill out to get into C.A.P.S. Most of them wrote: "Because I was in it last year." or my favorite, "Because it sounds fun." Most of the popular kids are good-looking....but they aren't the least bit creative or neat, or do what they're told. C.A.P.S. is looking for creative and artistic people. My friend, who is the most artistic and creative person in the school, did not get in....BUT a kid in a lower grade did....and hes black....hes the only one in the school....and he didnt even submit a questionaire!!!!!! I am super artistic and creative....and everyone always compliments me for it. I didn't get accepted....but all the popular kids did. Also, the teachers who are the leaders....their kids magically got accepted. What do I do?!

The theme of the story describes a young polar bear floating his melting ice cake over to a larger one and jumping to the safer haven. Want to find the whole story and the author.

I've come across this poem
William and Emily by Edgar Lee Masters.
And I can't seem to figure out what the poem is saying.

THERE is something about Death
Like love itself!
If with some one with whom you have known passion,
And the glow of youthful love,
You also, after years of life
Together, feel the sinking of the fire,
And thus fade away together,
Gradually, faintly, delicately,
As it were in each other’s arms,
Passing from the familiar room—
That is a power of unison between souls
Like love itself!

Thank you in advance.

When people lie and people cheat,
I know I'm free to go,
To find the God inside of me,
The only God I know.

Finding God's impossible,
In this huge human race,
But when my God is inside me,
I always will have faith.

Through life I've always wondered,
What it's like just to be me,
With a book to follow, I'm so locked up,
With my soul I'm free.

Some men find love from others,
Some find love from Cocaine,
But these things go in people's live's
My love will stay the same.

"Life is not about the amount of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breaths away."

I know it's from the movie "Hitch", but I want to know what you think about this quote. How dose it make you feel? What does it make you think of? Has there been a moment in your life that has taken your breath away? I reall want to know.

Pen names, nom de plumes - how does one manage to earn a name for theirselves as an artist? I've met several artists that have used pen names instead of their real names to present theirselves to the public, and are actually very well known for them. I mean, there may be copyright/trademark problems, especially if you just "do it", right? because anybody can (wether intentionally or accidentally) use your name and use it for their own.

So, my question is, how do you start? do you just "do it", do you sign a legal documentation? or what?

In May 1845 John Ruskin prolonged his stay in Pisa in order to draw the early 15th -century Palazzo Agostini on the Lungarno, or river bank, of the Tuscan city. "There is nothing like it in Italy that I know of", he said; and, writing to his father, he added: "They have knocked a great hole in the middle to put up a shield with a red lion and a yellow cock upon it for the sign of a consul, and they have knocked another at the bottom to put up a sign of a soldier riding a horse on two legs, with inscription All'Ussero Café." The sign mentioned by Ruskin was short-lived, since it was thrown into the River Arno the following year by liberal students who could not even stand the sight of that Hussar. It reminded them of Austrian rule over partitioned Italy; but the Café, one of the oldest in Europe, is still there. It has been there since 1775, as attested by copies of documents, letters, and contracts exhibited on its walls, which mention the presence of a Café on the ground floor.
