Haha you're funny. That quote was penned way before Hitch. (I don't know who wrote it but it's definately not just from that movie) Anyways, I think that quote is true. I don't really believe in it, but it's true. One moment that took my breath away was when I fell down the stairs. That was a surprise because my body never hit the ground, I just slid on my socks half way and cought myself, like I was skating.

I think too many people may be searching far and wide for those moments that have a profound effect on you, when in reality they can be in your back yard.
There are many wonderful moments in life, but sometimes we are just living too fast to notice them.
I have two dogs, a young Boxer and a very old Rhodesian( who is just about deaf). The other day coming from work, I noticed that when I come up the driveway, the young boxer goes and wakes up his old buddy and brings him to the gate to greet me.
Think about that.
I remember a couple years ago, hiking up in the mountains and I stopped to watch a big Monarch Butterfly. It was fluttering around in front of me and I just kind of absentmindedly held up my finger , and he landed on it! My knees almost gave out.
And then, don't get me started with the kids, beginning with their birth.
We all need to just take more time to smell the roses

Great thought..... Life is about all the things we find enjoyable with a little pain for seasoning.... not just how long we live. My breath was taken away by both of my childrens births .

It is a self-serving witticism that is not true.
Yes, I have had my breath taken away both actually and figuratively. Some were high points and and some were low but, none of them configured my life.

I think it is a good quote. It makes me think of good, happy, and meaningful times in my life. For some reason, it kind of makes me think of some good *** sex that I've had in life too. Beaty is the thing that takes my breath away. God's creations of beautiful landscapes and skies.

this is an example of taking the breathing and oxygen for granted. tell this to Asthma patients. tell this to David blaine under water. there is nothing more important than oxygen on this earth and thus the trees are most important resource for us.
